Unlimited Fun and Entertainment with “World Street Festival” at Global Village

Global Village, the region’s leading family destination for cultural shopping and entertainment, is bringing the best of the world’s street acts and performances to Dubai under the World’s Street Festival, elevating the entertainment experience from Feb 25th to March 5th2016. Families can expect to be entertained with a variety of street-style performances by talented artists and performers who come from different parts of the world and will only be performing for 10 days so they are not to be missed! World Street Festival will see three platforms spread across the green area in Global Village with unique structures guaranteed to give guests the best street entertainment experience.

 

The Charlie Chaplin show from Argentina will be making its appearance during the festival with multi-talented actor and impressionist Diego Andres charming the Global Village guests with his acclaimed portrayal of the world-renowned Charlie Chaplin. Diego is today known as one of the world’s best-loved Charlie Chaplin impersonators, and Global Village guests will have the chance to view his highly acclaimed performance for the second season after his astonishing performance in the 19th season, where he is coming back based on popular demand.

Children and adults will be amazed with the ‘clown of all clowns’, the award-winning Otto Bas Sotto from Italy. Otto began experimenting with creating clown acts, comedic magic and spherical improvisations with only one thing in common being rubber. Otto Bassotto’s show became so successful that his special clown shows won multiple awards in international festivals! Global Village will get everyone an opportunity to witness one of the best clown acts of all times during the World’s Street Festival.

 

And as if one entertaining clown wasn’t enough, another award winning clown, Fraser Hooper of UK, will also be performing as part of the World Street Festival at Global Village.  Hooper, who has built a huge international followings, delighting audiences of all ages with his unique brand of contemporary clowning, will be using mime, slapstick and audience participation to engage and entertain the guests of Global Village.

 

With clowns and mime artists, dance acts cannot be too far behind in the entertainment package offered during the World Street Festival. Faces of Disco, the British dance comedy duo who got famous after reaching the semi-finals of Britain’s Got Talent have been entertaining hundreds of thousands of people around the world with their unique combination of celebrity and personalized masks and comedy disco dance. They will be entertaining and dancing with their fans at Global Village during this 10 day festival.

 

Guests will also be enthralled by Senmaru of Japan who will be performing the traditional art of juggling from Tokyo called ‘Edo-Daikagura’ during the World Street Festival. Senmaru sets his juggling and balance acts in comic environments and performs all the traditional Japanese tricks right here in Dubai’s Global Village!

 

The most travelled cowboy street-show in the world will now be in Global Village during the 10 day festival with David Lichtenstein of USA featuring his comedy character, Leapin’ Louie performing master trick roping, fancy whip cracking, juggling and unicycling.

 

Music entertainment through magical illusion and comedy, DJ Vinyl Burns from New Zealand will give Global Village’s guests an opportunity to be entertained by his DJ skills mixed with comedy as he creates the build-up to a climax of live rock-guitar anthems and high altitude 80's hair-rock sing-along finale at the World Street Festival in Global Village.

 

Guests will also get a taste of the ‘Mr. Bean’ and ‘Jacque Tati’ humour as George Orange of UK performs at Global Village during the festival reflecting his unique solo comedy style while using circus skills and non-stop clowning. A mostly non-verbal, visual show; George Orange engages with his audience across different nationalities and age.

 

All the performances are free of charge and included in the price of admission to Global Village and will provide an incredible variety of activities during the festival.

With an enhanced line up of entertainment, shopping and dining to commemorate 20 successful seasons of operation, guests at Global Village are entertained with a never-before seen line up of exclusive live performances, spectacular new rides, authentic international cuisines and indigenous crafts and merchandise from its 32 worldwide pavilions.
