Ugandan envoy praises Saudi Arabia’s humanitarian efforts

The King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief) on Monday continued its noble mission in different parts of the world.

 

The center has several relief projects underway in different crisis-hit countries.

 

In a meeting with KSrelief General Supervisor Dr. Abdullah Al-Rabeeah, Ugandan Ambassador Isaac Biruma Sebulime praised the center’s professionalism and its humanitarian role in supporting affected countries and people around the world. They discussed issues of mutual interest related to humanitarian efforts.

 

In Niamey, the center distributed over 86 tons of food items among 5,677 people affected by floods in Tahou, Niger.

 

The center also distributed over 66 tons of food among 3,756 people in Omdurman, Sudan.

 

Since its inception in May 2015, the center has contributed to several humanitarian projects worth $4.4 billion in partnership with different global nonprofit organizations. Since its establishment, the center has implemented over 1,295 different projects in 51 countries.

 

The center is carrying out several health, education, rehabilitation and youth empowerment projects in war-hit Yemen. A total of 781 people visited KSrelief mobile clinics in Hajjah governorate in Yemen during November.

 

The center is also carrying out water and sanitation projects in different parts of Yemen.

 

During November, a total of 1,062,000 liters of drinking water was pumped into the Al-Khawkhah directorate in Hodeidah.

 

According to a recent KSrelief report, the countries that benefited the most from its various projects include Yemen ($3 billion), Palestine ($358 million), Syria ($295 million) and Somalia ($192 million).
