Saudia set to receive its first B777-300ER plane

Saudi Arabian Airlines (Saudia) will receive on Wednesday its first Boeing B777-300ER aircraft which is supplied with new and luxurious compartments for the first class passengers.

A special function to mark the occasion will be held at Boeing›s main offices in Seattle and will be attended by Saudia›s Director General Saleh Bin Nasser Al-Jasser, senior officials from the two companies, a number of aviation specialists, among others.

Saudia has concluded an agreement with Boeing to purchase 10 such aircraft of which four will be received later this year and five in 2017.

The new plane has 12 distinguished compartments for the first class passengers each with an electronic seat which can easily be adjusted for complete relaxation and can also be made into a comfortable bed.

There is an electronic keyboard which will enable the passenger to control the seat which is supplied with a flexible lighting system. There is also space to store the personal belongings.

Each wing will also have sliding doors to provide the passenger with more space and a 24-inch HD plasma that will enable him/her to enjoy the entertainment programs throughout the flight in addition to a large dining table for two people to be served with food.

The new aircraft is considered an important addition to the Saudia›s fleet which is steadily increasing.

The company will later this year receive 28 new aircraft with various models and 30 others during 2017.

The new aircraft will replace the old ones which will be put on retirement. The average life span of Saudia›s aircraft will be four years making it one of the newest and most modern fleets in the world.
