Panasonic launches world’s first HDR camcorder in latest 4K line-up

Adding to Panasonic’s expansive range of 4K products is a new palm-sized series for 4K shooting at home launched by Panasonic Marketing Middle East and Africa (PMMAF). The exciting new range of home-use 4K camcorders provides the best quality of videography in the comfort of one’s home. With photographers and videographers world over switching to 4K technology to ensure crystal clear images and smooth footage, Panasonic aims to employ the revolutionary 4K technology to capture everyday special moments through their latest range of 4K camcorders. Panasonic has also launched the first ever camcorder with High Dynamic Range (HDR) movie function in the region.

Hitesh Ojha Deputy General Manager, Imaging, Audio, Video, Panasonic Marketing Middle East & Africa commented: “In addition to offering more ways to enjoy camera recording, Panasonic's far-reaching efforts continue to pursue images with the highest possible quality. Panasonic is entering the exciting new field of 4K camcorders to expand the world of 4K recording from professional to home-use cameras. We aim to widen the use and spread of 4K technology by not limiting it only to the professionals but also providing the masses with this unique technology.”

Over the coming months, the following range of 4K Camcorders with numerous features will be available in the region:

New 4K Ultra HD Camcorders in a Compact Body - (available with WX970/VX870 Series)

This new series is capable of 4K recording with 4 times the resolution of Full-HD. Combined with the superb quality of the Leica Dicomar Lens, a BSI Sensor with 8.29M effective pixels, and the Crystal Engine 4K, stunning 4K images can now be recorded at home. High-speed, high-precision AF technology supports comfortable auto focusing even when shooting in 4K. And a 4-Drive Lens System enables optical 20x zooming in 4K resolution from a compact body.

Twin Camera Evolution (available with HC-WX970/W570 Series)

The twin camera models feature a sub-camera on the edge of their LCD monitor to enable shooting in two angles at the same time while providing panning and tilting operation. The image captured with the sub-camera can be recorded in a picture-in-picture format onto any of the LCD corners. With the new addition of Narration mode, which emphasizes the camera user's voice, and a backup function that shoots a main angle without a sub window at the same time, further freedom is given to recording.

In addition to the sub camera’s ±20° tilt function, the HC-WX970 Series features a 2x zoom. And the twin camera function has also been added to the middle class HC-W570 model this year.

Wireless Twin Camera (HC-WX970/VX870/V770/W570 Series)

The wireless twin camera function lets the user enjoy a Wi-Fi connected smartphone as a sub camera so they can record from two angles at the same time. Even models that do not feature a sub camera can now be used for shooting at any angle.

World’s First Camcorders with HDR Movie (available with HC-WX970/VX870/V770/V760 Series)

These models are the world’s first consumer camcorders equipped with the HDR (High Dynamic Range) Movie function. It uses the best parts of two images taken with different exposure times to create crisper, clearer videos by suppressing blown highlights and blocked shadows. For example, when taking backlit movies, this function captures images with excellent gradation and clear images.
