Ministry of Culture, Saudi Post release ‘Year of Arabic Calligraphy’ stamps

The Ministry of Culture and the Saudi Post Corporation launched Tuesday a number of post stamps illustrated with “Year of Arabic Calligraphy” initiative to be used during 2021.

The issuance of the postal stamps is part of the initiative’s activities to promote the Arabic calligraphy arts in the society as per the Quality of Life Program, one of the realization programs of the Kingdom Vision 2030.

A total of 12 postal stamps will be issued in three categories, four stamps each, with the first category to be issued today. The stamps for the second and third categories to be issued in May and August respectively.

The postal stamps have been crafted in new designs carrying the logo of the “Year of Arabic Calligraphy” initiative with the aim of promoting the Arabic calligraphy as a pivotal component of the Arab culture and history.

The stamps are one of the ideas and tracks developed by the Ministry of Culture to promote the “Year of Arabic Calligraphy” initiative and enhance its presence which also included the stamping of the initiative’s logo as a mark on passports of the Kingdom’s visitors upon arrival and lighting the Tuwaiq Mountain with the logo, among other ideas to enhance the national identity as a major pillar of the Kingdom Vision 2030.
