King Salman praised for prioritizing health

Madinah Gov. Prince Faisal bin Salman has praised Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman for prioritizing the health of citizens at the opening of a new special intensive care unit at a local hospital.

The facility was built at a cost of SR100 million in the hospital that will now have 64 extra beds. Director General of Madinah Health Affairs Ahmad Al-Saghir and several health officials were present at the event.
King Fahd Hospital Director Abdullah Al-Alam said 34 rooms had been completed during the first phase, while 30 others would be constructed in the second. There are state-of-the art technology being installed, he said.
Last June, in collaboration with King Fahd Specialist Hospital in Dammam, a specialized medical team at King Fahd Hospital in Madinah successfully performed a kidney transplant for a citizen in his thirties as part of the re-activation of the Kidney Transplant Program.
The patient had visited the King Abdulaziz kidney surgery center, suffering from chronic renal failure. The operation took five hours and the donor left the hospital a day later.
Earlier, the surgery unit was inaugurated by Prince Faisal.
