HR Summit & Expo Opens 21st Edition at Dubai World Trade Centre

HR Summit & Expo HR Summit & Expo (HRSE) 2023, the Middle East's most extensive and enduring HR event, successfully launched its 21st edition this year with a programme opened by His Excellency Abdullah Ali Bin Zayed Al-Falasi, Director General of Dubai Government Human Resources Department. Taking place at Halls 3 & 4, Dubai World Trade Centre until October 25, this event allows HR professionals and key decision-makers to come together, network and shape the future of the industry.

After a powerful Masterclass by Dave Ulrich on October 23 at Park Hyatt, Dubai, the action-packed series of events will continue with the Conference and Exhibition today and tomorrow; the Future Workplace Awards taking place tonight at Park Hyatt, Dubai; and the Workshops from October 26 to 27 at Sheraton Grand Hotel, Dubai, UAE).

“HR Professionals love analytics, we love data, we love evidence. It’s so critical for HR to not start with activity, but outcome, HR is not about HR, it's about doing HR so that we create value with a customer, with an investor, with a strategy." said Dave Ulrich, during his masterclass about ‘Upgrading your Talent – A Primary HR Agenda’. He also added “I think a trend is going to be an increasing connection between what we do inside the firm in managing people, talent and organisation, and how it creates value outside, through evidence and through analytics.”

On October 24 the Conference and Exhibition featured a panel discussion on workplace challenges for 2024, including topics like prioritizing people over profit and employee engagement. Additionally, a keynote by Professor Serguei Netessine from the Wharton School highlighted the evolving landscape of business education and the role of innovative tools.

HRSE attendees also had the privilege of witnessing luminaries like Lynda Gratton, a distinguished Professor and Organisational Theorist at the London Business School, renowned globally as a leading authority on the future of work. On the second day, Lucy Adams, former HR Director at the BBC, will share her experiences in managing significant change in complex organisations, addressing quick decision-making, moral considerations, and redefining leadership in an uncertain world. Lucy will also provide insights into managing public scrutiny and organisational challenges from her five-year tenure, offering fresh perspectives on leadership and employee engagement. Another unmissable talk is by Dr. Adam Hickman, Ph.D., Vice President of Learning, Organisational Development, and Cast Member Development at The Walt Disney Company, a renowned expert in leadership, HR, and organisational development. Dr. Hickman's session promises valuable leadership insights on October 25.
