GOIC signs a Memorandum of Understanding with ARADO

It focuses on developing industrial sector’s human capacities

The Gulf Organization for Industrial Consulting (GOIC) signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Arab Administrative Development Organization (ARADO), a leading non-profit organisation affiliated with the League of Arab States on Wednesday, March 25, 2015. The MoU aims at boosting cooperation and coordination between the two parties to support the Gulf industrial sector. The two organisations strongly believe in the importance of establishing and supporting scientific and technical cooperation in areas of common interest.

The event took place at GOIC’s headquarters in Doha, Qatar in the presence of HE Dr. Refat Alfaouri, Director General of ARADO, HE Mr. Abdulaziz Bin Hamad Al-Ageel, Secretary General of GOIC, HE Dr. Ali Hamed Al-Mulla, Assistant Secretary General for Industrial Projects Sector, HE Mr. Mohammed Bin Khamis Bin Rashid Al-Mukhaini, Assistant Secretary General for Industrial Information and Studies and a number of directors of GOIC’s departments.

HE Mr. Abdulaziz Bin Hamad Al-Ageel reiterated that GOIC deploys all possible efforts to develop individual and organisational capacities in the GCC and Yemen industrial sector through training. In fact, GOIC has organised several workshops and training courses throughout GCC countries aiming at raising the efficiency of workers in the industrial sector.

HE the Secretary General highlighted the importance of cooperating with ARADO to develop human capacities in the industrial sector, particularly in administrative areas in GCC countries in support of a comprehensive development in the region.

Furthermore, HE Dr. Refat Alfaouri stated: “ARADO is a regional coordination body between regional institutions operating in the area of administrative development. Its role includes providing opportunities for an exchange of expertise and capacities, and for Arab institutions to interact and mutually benefit from the overall expertise in the field of administrative development. It also aims at supporting, encouraging and spreading successful innovative projects. Moreover, ARADO supports common efforts and comparative studies throughout Arab countries.” In addition to that, HE Dr. Alfaouri expressed his belief that the MoU will strengthen cooperation between the two organisations to achieve desired administrative development, particularly in the Gulf industrial sector. He stressed the importance of benefiting from GOIC’s expertise in the area of industrial consulting and human capacity building.

The MoU tackles cooperation and coordination between the two organisations in areas of common interest. It highlights the need for the two organisations two work together to develop technical and administrative capacities of individuals involved in industrial projects, investors, businessmen, entrepreneurs, government officials and decision makers through the exchange of information and training workshops. The two parties are to collaboratively organise training courses, seminars, scientific conferences and advisory studies in areas of common interest.

The meeting was also an opportunity to introduce GOIC’s industrial strategy, programs, studies and researches in GCC countries and Yemen and its efforts to support industrial development in these countries. GOIC has several programs serving this purpose, notably the Industrial Market Intelligence Portal (IMI), the GCC Subcontracting and Partnership Exchange Network (GSPX), the Training and Capacity Development Program (TCD), the Industrial Technical Assistance Program (ITA) for SMEs, the Manufacturing Investment Opportunities Program (MIOP) and the Industrial Studies and Policies Program (ISP).
