 Emirates District Cooling LLC [Emicool] – a leading district cooling service provider in the region and a joint venture of Dubai Investments PJSC and Union Properties, has been recognized with top industry awards in two categories at the 107th International District Energy Association [IDEA] Annual Conference and Trade Show held recently in Minnesota, USA.

 

Emicool bagged the Silver Award for the ‘greatest number of buildings committed to district energy beyond North America’ and the Bronze Award for the ‘total building area committed to district energy beyond North America’. This is the fifth year that Emicool has won the prestigious award, reflecting its commitment to promoting environmental sustainability in UAE and region.

The Company is planning to increase its plant capacity to 500,000 Tonnes of Refrigeration [TR] by 2020 as rampant construction is leading to pent-up demand for district cooling services across the UAE and region. The company has put forward strategic plans to transform many buildings in Dubai from conventional air-conditioning to district cooling, which will increase penetration of district cooling concept in the market.
