Dubai Customs and GII train 60 managers and employees on “Chief Innovation Officer”

Dubai Customs organized a 3-day training course for 60 managers and employees in cooperation with the Global Innovation Institute (GII).

The course, Certified Chief Innovation Officer (CCINO), which was organized as part of 2nd Dubai Customs Week (22nd-28th January) under the theme “We sustain security, together we grow”, comes within Dubai Customs’ efforts to develop its staff’s skills and encourage them for more innovation at work.

Ahmed Mahboob Musabih, Director of Dubai Customs inaugurated the training course at Zabeel Park.

“Dubai Customs adopts innovation as a daily practice and a fixed strategy, and we educate our employees of how to approach innovation and bring out of the box ideas to the table. One way of doing this is to hold workshops and training courses like this one.

“Thanks to the new innovations we managed to develop customs work and promote the UAE as a leading country in this field. The UAE jumped from 27th place in logistic services performance in 2014 to 14th place in 2016” Musabih said.

Hussam Juma Mohammed, Director of Business Process Department and head of innovation team in Dubai Customs commented:

“We organized this training course in cooperation with Dubai Customs Training Center and Global Innovation Institute to encourage innovation and get the best experience from GII, the worldwide leading training institute. We were lucky to have Anthony Mills, GII’s CEO, lecture in the 3-day course.

“GII is a world leading institute in the field of workplace innovation, and we organized this training course to hone and develop the skills of our employees to achieve tangible advancement in customs work.

“The course focused on a number of values such as: Innovation’s main objective, how does innovation work, types of innovation, timeframes, how to structure and launch innovation programs, etc.” Juma concluded.

The course, Juma confirmed, delivered what any executive director needs starting from individual innovation to strategic vision of innovation.
