Canon Middle East Official Imaging Partner at World Art Dubai

Canon Middle East, a leader in digital imaging solutions, will be the Official Imaging Partner at World Art Dubai, the biggest affordable art fair in the country, to be held till April 9 at the Dubai World Trade Centre on Sheikh Zayed Road.

The event, which brings in 140 local, regional and international galleries and artists, features diverse collection of 3,000 contemporary art works priced from $100 to $10,000, banishing the stigma of art as a luxury exclusively for the rich.

Pravin Punjabi, Event Director, Exhibitions & Events Management, DWTC, said: “Our aim with World Art Dubai is to support artists and educate the public that art can be affordable and not just open to a niche audience. This is a unique chance for visitors to be exposed to a diverse collection of local and international pieces and find and buy art for their own walls, regardless of what their budget might be.”

Canon Middle East is the official imaging partner further displaying its commitment to a new generation of digital printing that enables faster, smarter and high quality output, especially for those in creative fields like graphic arts. The company is looking to build new propositions for industrial applications through digital printing in the days ahead.

The Graphic Arts market in the EMEA region is estimated to be worth €40 billion by 2018, presenting a great opportunity for Canon as the industry shifts from analogue to digital printers. Canon is continuing to invest in digital print technologies to be able to cost-effectively print ever-more complex applications on demand.

Over the course of the World Art Dubai event, Canon will present an opportunity for interactive graffiti art, a unique and exciting experience that allows the interactive creation of virtual graffiti. Using a specially designed spray can users will be able to create virtual images that appear on the screen, generating a vibrant and colourful work of art.

The technology leader is also creating another interactive “mosaic wall” that uses Instagram pictures to make up the pixels of a larger image.  Visitors will also be able to express themselves and become artists for the day, whilst colouring in the “Dubai Skyline”.

Canon Middle East will display its iPF8400 printer at stand F8 in Sheikh Saeed Hall and visitors are welcome to print their photographs and experience the quality of Canon’s large format printers.

Anurag Agrawal, Managing Director, Canon Middle East said: “Canon supports those in the creative field both as part of our business as well as our corporate social responsibility. We aim to provide them new insights into the advances in digital technology and thus strengthen their skills.  World Art Dubai brings together young and emerging artists and buyers who are passionate about art and it is our privilege to support this event.”

World Art Dubai has also entered into partnership with Repton School, one of the leading educational communities in the world. As the official school partner, Repton will assist in running an inter-school art competition for students, ‘Urban Dubai’, across the city’s range of junior and senior schools. The top 10 winners will be given cameras by Canon at World Art Dubai.

The Middle East is one of the most vibrant markets for the sale of contemporary art; the UAE ranks in the top 50 marketplaces, generating annual revenues of over AED 13 million.
