Avivo Group campaign seeks to diagnose diseases Just-In-Time

Avivo Group is launching a new “Just-In-Time” campaign from July 29 to highlight the importance of regular health check-ups to not only reduce the risk of getting sick but also to detect potentially life-threatening health conditions or diseases in their initial stages.

The latest initiative by Avivo Group -- one of the fastest-growing healthcare service providers in the GCC -- coincides with the recent launch of the National Strategy for Wellbeing 2031 that aims to make the UAE a world leader in the quality of life.

“The ‘Just-In-Time’ campaign will focus on key health issues which many people neglect at some point of time in their life. Many times, a simple mistake of forgetting to seek proper medical advice or going through routine health check-ups can turn to be fatal,” said Avivo Group's Chief Executive Officer Dr Dilshaad Ali in a statement.

“During the campaign, representatives of the Avivo Group will raise health awareness among people of all age groups to get health checks done ‘Just-In-Time’,” Dr Ali added.

Key check-up and tests during the ‘Just in Time’ campaign will include diabetes screening, vaccinations of children and adults, new-born screening, non-invasive prenatal test, food intolerance test, heart health checkup, regular health checks, breast USG mammogram, thyroid, dental, hepatitis and back and neck pain diagnoses.

“Latest studies suggest that one in five people in the UAE suffer from diabetes, a condition that can cause multiple serious health problems including heart disease and damage to organs, including the eyes and kidneys,” said Dr Ali, referring to the latest reports.

In the MENA region, a number of diabetic patients is expected to increase by a whopping 110 per cent to 82 million over the next 25 years, according to a report by Colliers International.

Statistics released at the recently held World Cardiac Congress hosted in Dubai, meanwhile, suggested that the threshold for cardiac arrests and cardiovascular disease (CVD) worldwide is 65 years, while people in the UAE are suffering from the CVD at the age of 45.

“Through ‘Just-In-Time’ campaign, we seek to increase chances for treatment and cure before the situation gets worse. Regular medical tests and check-ups limit the risk of complications due to close monitoring of existing conditions. Beside increasing lifespan and improving the health of individuals, the initiative aims to reduce healthcare costs of the patients over time by avoiding costly medical services,” said Dr Ali.

The Avivo Group’s campaign is all set to play an important role in achieving the goals set for National Strategy for Wellbeing 2031 that aims to promote an integrated concept of wellbeing in the country through a number of strategic objectives and initiatives, thus supporting the UAE Vision 2021 and the UAE Centennial 2071.
