Arab plats Ends in Dubai with sustainable projects worth $ 88 million

Arab plast 2023 in Dubai witnessed the signing of agreements for petrochemical companies to establish projects that produce raw materials that serve the environment and sustainability goals, worth more than $ 88 million.

 

Participants in the exhibition predicted that the rate of plastic recycling in the Middle East will increase by 9.3% by 2026.

 

Arab plast concluded its 16th edition at the Dubai World Trade Center on Friday, announcing the reception of more than 30,000 visitors, specialists and experts in the plastics and petrochemical industries over a period of 3 days.

 

The exhibition, which is the largest plastics and petrochemicals exhibition in the Middle East and North Africa, was attended by 750 international companies specialized in the plastics and petrochemicals sector from 35 countries, including Switzerland, Germany, Italy, India, China, Austria, Turkey and Saudi Arabia, while the volume of local companies participating this year increased to more than 40 companies.

 

Nidal Mohammed, General Manager of Al Fajr Information and Services Company, the organizer of the exhibition, said that the exhibition achieved great success in its 16th session, especially in highlighting sustainability in the plastics and petrochemical industries, and showcasing technologies for recycling and environmental protection, in conjunction with the Year of Sustainability in the UAE, noting that the exhibition was keen to motivate industry leaders by adopting circular practices that enhance efficiency and reduce environmental impact.

 

For his part, Rashid Moubayed, Director of Arabplast 2023, said that the exhibition in its 16th session witnessed the signing of many important agreements in the field of plastics and petrochemical industries, and the launch of mega projects that serve the goals of environmental protection and sustainability.

 

He added: "This year's edition was characterized by highlighting the latest developments in plastics and recycling technologies, modern machines that promote sustainability, and environmentally friendly products, such as bio-based plastics and renewable chemicals.

 

Rashid Moubayed said that the industry giants participating in the exhibition revealed a promising future for the plastics, recycling, petrochemicals, packaging and rubber sectors, as the global market is expected to witness strong growth in the coming years.
