Alawwal bank donates SR1m to help Disabled Children’s Association

 ALAWWAL bank has donated SR1 million of financial support to the Disabled Children’s Association Scholarship Program. As part of the bank’s long-standing partnership with the association, the funding will provide education and rehabilitation for an additional 15 children aged 4-12. The SR1 million is part of an ongoing package of support for the association by Alawwal bank. In addition to the extra financial support, the bank has pledged to help raise awareness of the association’s role in helping disabled children overcome their challenges, supporting their physical and psychological rehabilitation and integration into the community. The donation was made at a special ceremony attended by Prince Sultan Bin Salman Bin Abdul Aziz, President for Saudi Commission for Tourism and National Heritage (SCTH) and President of the Disabled Children’s Association, along with Alawwal bank Chairman Eng Mubarak Al-Khafrah and Managing Director of Alawwal bank Soren Nikolajsen and senior representatives from the Disabled Children’s Association. Nikolajsen said: “We have supported the Disabled Children’s Association for many years and are continually impressed by the work they do to improve the lives for young children with special needs and their families. You only need to spend a little time with some of kids to see the positive impact it is having. We are extremely proud to be able to play our small part in this very important work.” Abdulrahman Al-Suwailem, Vice President of the Council and Chairman of the Executive Committee of the Disabled Children’s Association expressed his gratitude to Alawwal bank for their continued support and added: “Alawwal bank’s generous contributions and commitment to our cause play a pivotal role in our success working with disabled children. Our partnership with the bank helps us enhance the rehabilitation programs, as well as implement new projects. Together we can brighten the future of some of the Kingdom’s children with special needs.” Alawwal bank has been a long-term supporter of the Disabled Children’s Association. Previously it sponsored the ‘Mubadarati’ program, supporting children with special needs through educating the community and families on how to positively manage the specific needs of disabled children and foster rehabilitation. As the Kingdom’s oldest bank, Alawwal bank has a long track record of working with social and charitable organizations, building partnerships that make an important contribution to the welfare of the Kingdom. — SG
