Ajman DED obtains global accreditation from CIPS

The Department of Economic Development in Ajman (Ajman DED) has obtained international accreditation for procurement and supply ethics by the international Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply (CIPS).

This accreditation is the first of its kind at the Ajman government level, in exchange for the Department’s application of the highest standards, policies and procedures in the field of ethical procurement and supply management. It builds close partnerships with the best service providers, manages and governs all contracts, in addition to automating key processes, which contributes to increasing transparency, governance and flexibility.

Regarding this achievement, Abdullah Ahmed Al Hamrani, Director-General of the Ajman DED, said, “The Department’s receipt of the accreditation certificate for Procurement and Supply Ethics is considered international recognition of our compliance with governance principles and ethical practices, as well as our maintenance of the highest standards of integrity and transparency in managing procurement operations effectively and efficiently, and our commitment to striving to create solutions to secure high-quality and more sustainable procurement and supply chains.”

Al Hamrani thanked the work team and CIPS for their trust in the Department, and said, “It is very important that our certificates are certified by a prestigious organization such as CIPS, especially since our vision and mission emphasize quality and leadership in performance locally and globally.”

The CIPS includes the largest professional organisation for procurement and supply in the world. The Institute also has global groups of more than 200,000 persons in 180 different countries, including businessmen, government employees, and distinguished academics.

Sam Achampong, CIPS MENA, Managing Director, stated, “It was a pleasure to present the CIPS Ethics certificate to Ajman DED. As the first government entity in the Emirate of Ajman to receive this recognition, it illustrates not only their total commitment to business ethics but also to continuous improvement and business excellence. I commend their efforts and wish them all the best going forward.".
