Airbus’ best-selling A320 Family logged orders for 19 aircraft in both the CEO (Current Engine Option) and NEO (New Engine Option) versions during October. The month’s 54 deliveries involved all members of its current-production product line – the single-aisle A320 Family, and widebody A330, A350 XWB and A380 – bringing to more than 10,000 the total number of jetliners provided since Airbus’ first delivery in 1974.

 

The A320 Family orders in October involved three transactions with undisclosed customers: one comprising 10 A320neo aircraft; another for two A320ceo and three A321ceo versions; and the third comprising four A319ceo jetliners.

 

Taking the month’s bookings and cancellations into account, Airbus net orders for 2016 totalled 395 aircraft through 31 October.

 

Among the month’s delivery highlights was the 10,000th aircraft milestone: an A350-900 for Singapore Airlines, once again confirming Airbus’ role as a global market leader offering the most modern and comprehensive product line with seating capacities ranging from 100 to more than 600 passengers.

 

Three other A350 XWBs also were provided during the month (received by Cathay Pacific, Thai Airways International and Vietnam Airlines), continuing the 2016 delivery pace for this new Xtra widebody jetliner.

 

Also received by airlines during the month were three A380s: two for Emirates, and one for Asiana Airlines.  Airbus completed its widebody deliveries during the period with six A330s.

 

The 41 A320 Family single-aisle deliveries in October included eight A320neo versions, with the following airlines receiving their first New Engine Option aircraft: Avianca Brazil, Azul, Frontier Airlines, SAS, Viva Aerobus and Spirit Airlines (obtaining two).

 

Taking these latest deliveries into account, Airbus provided a total of 516 aircraft to 78 customers in 2016 from January through October.

 

Based on the month’s order and delivery activity, Airbus’ backlog as of 31 October stood at 6,710 aircraft, composed of: 5,494 A320 Family jetliners, 330 A330s, 765 A350 XWBs and 121 A380s.
