Over the years, GCC governments have introduced various investor-friendly policies scaling the quality of education. Canon has recognized this potential and is actively seeking to establish public-private partnerships (PPPs) with local government to build sustainable ecosystems by introducing innovative solutions.

Presenting the Education for Life+ (EFL+) programme at MENA Innovation 2019, Shadi Bakhour said: “There is a surge in the Middle East education sector with governments placing emphasis on the introduction of new programmes to help drive efficiencies. We have studied the region’s education market closely and MENA Innovation 2019 is an ideal platform for us to introduce the Education for Life+ (EFL+) programme. For Canon Middle East, education will continue to be an important area of growth and we will invest in creating and developing new programmes to support the vision and growth of local governments.”

“Education for Life+ (EFL+) is also extended to the development of life skills amongst the region’s youth, enabling their continued development and professional growth”; he further added.

As per recent reports, the total number of students in GCC education sector is projected to reach 14.5 million in 2022, (from 12.9 million in 2017) owing to the rise in population of school and college age students.[1]

Canon has already extended the programme to Saudi Arabia is engaged with several of the kingdom’s universities to introduce Education for Life+ (EFL+) and its applications that could make big positive transition for student related education services. The Education for Life+ (EFL+) programme clearly resonates with Canon’s corporate philosophy of kyosei, which means living and working together for the common good in Japanese, as it aims to support the nation in building a robust, modern and technologically advanced education system.
