14th Edition of Dulsco Classic to ‘Go Green’

One of country’s first Green Golf tournament, ‘Dulsco Classic’ will tee off on March 9th at the Montgomerie Golf Club, Dubai. The 14th edition of Dulsco Classic prepares for a spectrum of activities pivoting around recycled materials. At one of the holes, golfers will be attempting not only the ‘nearest the pin’ but ‘in the bin’ with a second ball into the green bin to drive the message further. Last year, the event witnessed some serious head-to-head clashes with intense competition among the corporate golfers.

David Stockton, Managing Director, Dulsco stated that, “This year, through Dulsco Classic, we aim to further engage with our stakeholders and emphasise the importance of recycling within the corporate world. For the last 13 years, we have been successfully merging golf with the business community, and this year we aspire to integrate a sense of sustainability, thereby supporting the long term ecological balance.

Dulsco Classic tournament attracts a large number of golfers to participate every year. The corporate fraternity has been encouraged and shown keen interest in the highly awaited annual golf championship. This year, the company endeavors to reach out to a wider audience by demonstrating the need and importance of recycling.

Golfers will have a green experience at every step, from green gifts and trophies to playing with lake balls. Posters and tent cards will be visible across the golf club stating ‘green facts’ including the reception desk which will be made out of recovered material.

Dulsco has been actively associated with green initiatives to promote waste management and safe working environment. They recently bagged the first prize for creating one of the largest recycling logos with the help of recyclables at EcoWASTE 2017 which will be displayed at the event. On 4th Feb, Dulsco initiated a tree planting campaign to support the UAE National Environment Day by planting 270 ghaf trees across UAE. They have previously organized numerous events like training sessions for safe working environment and contests among students to encourage creative thinking to “Recycle and Innovate”.

Last year, Roy Dennis Gadsby recorded the best score of the day in the individual (Division A) stableford format to clinch the 13th edition of Dulsco Classic, one of the oldest corporate Golf tournaments in the UAE. Paul Maycock took home the honours in the Division B category. In the team category, Howard Hurrion, Roy Dennis Gadsby and Patrick McCarthy were crowned as champions after reaching a total of 92 points.
