Prince Sultan hails Shell for ‘boosting’ economy

Prince Sultan bin Salman, president of the Saudi Commission for Tourism and National Heritage (SCTNH), has praised Shell oil company for contributing to job creation and social development in the Kingdom.
Prince Sultan, who is also chairman of the Disabled Children’s Association, made the remarks at the National Museum here on Wednesday to mark the oil giant’s 75th year of operations in the Kingdom, the Saudi Press Agency reported Thursday.
In his address at the ceremony, attended by Shell’s Chief Executive Officer Ben van Beurden, Prince Sultan said the company has funded several projects that provided employment for Saudis. It has also been involved in social and humanitarian programs, he said.
He said the proceeds of the exhibition, The Book of Jubilee, had been generously donated to launch projects in aid of the Disabled Children’s Association. The prince had earlier viewed photographs showing the political, social and economic development of the country over the past seven decades.
The ceremony was attended by Executive President of Al-Faisaliyah Group Prince Mohammed Al-Faisal, Minister of Health and Saudi Aramco Chairman Khalid Al-Falih, Governor of the Saudi Arabian General Investment Authority Abdullatif Al-Othman, Chief Executive Officer of Saudi Aramco Amin Al-Nasser, Chief Executive Officer of Saudi Basic Industries Corporation Yousef Al-Bunyan and Prince Abdulaziz bin Turki Al-Faisal.
