The airline was named World’s Leading Airline: Business Class, World’s Leading Airline: Customer Experience, and World’s Leading Airline Lounge

Continuing to set benchmarks for quality, comfort and hospitality, Oman Air, the national airline of Oman, has been named World's Leading Airline - Business Class; World's Leading Airline - Customer Experience; and World's Leading Airline Lounge - Business Class by the World Travel Awards 2022. The airline’s Chief Executive Officer, Abdulaziz Al Raisi, along with the management team, received the awards during a ceremony hosted by Oman Airports at Al Bustan Palace, a Ritz-Carlton Hotel, under the patronage of His Excellency Salim Mohammed Al Mahrouqi, Minister of Heritage and Tourism. The awards, which are decided by public vote, were presented to winners from 50 participating countries, of which Oman won a total of nine.

“Oman’s travel and tourism industry is growing in leaps and bounds, playing an ever-greater role as a key enabler of Oman’s economic diversification. We are delighted to be part of these efforts, alongside a leading network of airports and hotels,” said Abdulaziz Al Raisi, Chief Executive Officer of Oman Air. “These awards are a welcome testament to our dedication to creating an extraordinary travel experience that brings the world to Oman and showcases the best of Oman to the world. We would like to thank our valued guests who voted for us and continue to choose us as their preferred airline.”

2022 has been a momentous year for Oman Air as the airline adapts to the pick-up of travel post-pandemic, while continuing to evolve to meet the demands of a rapidly shifting market. Recently awarded the 2023 Five-Star Major Airline rating by the Airline Passenger Experience Association (APEX), it has made increasing investments in its products and services, offering guests innovative cabin design, exceptional hospitality, and a growing range of destinations from its hub in Muscat. Meanwhile, it continues to fulfil its long-standing commitment to support Oman’s 2040 Vision and the National Tourism Strategy, and promote the country’s enormous potential as a preferred year-round travel destination.

Established in 1993, the World Travel Awards™ aims to acknowledge, reward and celebrate excellence across all key sectors of the travel, tourism and hospitality industries. Now in its 29th year, it is recognised globally as the ultimate hallmark of industry excellence, with well over two million people casting their votes for their favourite global travel and tourism brands. The WTA has recognised Oman Air several times in previous years, including Middle East's Leading Airline, Middle East's Leading Airline: Customer Experience, and Middle East's Leading Airline: Economy Class in 2021.
