King Salman distributes Naif awards

Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman late on Wednesday distributed various categories of Prince Naif Bin Abdulaziz Awards. The categories include: Prophetic Sunnah and Contemporary Islamic Studies, Appreciation and Memorization of Hadith.

 

The ceremony, organized by the general secretariat of the award in Madinah, was also attended by Crown Prince Muhammad Bin Naif, deputy premier and minister of interior; Deputy Crown Prince Muhammad Bin Salman, second deputy premier and minister of defense; Prince Saud Bin Naif, emir of the Eastern Province and head of the higher commission of the award; Dr. Azzam Al-Dakhil, minister of education; and Dr. Saed Al-Orabi Al-Harthi, advisor to the minister of interior and secretary general of the award.

 

Recipients of Prince Naif International Prize for the Prophet’s Sunnah were: Dr. Abul Qassim Muhammad Abu Shamah Najah, Dr. Ahmad Muhammad Fakeer, Dr. Mubarak Lamin Al-Hassan, Dr. Ziyad Abid Al-Mashoukhi and Dr. Adnan Mustafa Khatatibah.

 

In another category the award was announced for Sheikh Abdulmohsin Al-Abbad Al-Badr. Abdulrazaq Al-Abad Al-Badr, son of Sheikh Abdulmohsin, received the award from the King on his father’s behalf. During a short speech, he highlighted the King’s care for Sunnah in particular and Islam in general.

 

In another engagement of the evening, King Salman witnessed a presentation on the Prophet’s Mosque and the central area expansion projects at his residence in Madinah.

 

The presentation was given by Assistant Minister of Finance Mohammed Bin Hamoud Al-Maziad and engineers and officials of the expansion projects of the Prophet’s Mosque and the central area.

 

The King viewed models and replicas of the projects of the expansion of the Prophet’s Mosque, Al-Sunnah path that connects the Prophet’s Mosque with Quba Mosque, Quba Mosque expansion and Dar Al-Hijrah project, which includes 100 residential and commercial towers having a capacity to accommodate 120,000 guests. The King also viewed the projects’ related elements including a transport network, housing and investment projects and the international conference center in Madinah.

 

King Salman stressed the importance of careful follow-up of the work in the major expansion of the Prophet’s Mosque and projects associated with it, which all contribute to serving Islam and Muslims from around the world, as well as serving the people of the City of the Prophet (peace be upon him) and its visitors.
