Huawei has always been a pioneer in the world of smartphone technology. It was the first to launch a smartphone based on artificial intelligence through the Mate10 Series, which then adopted the "Kirin 970" processor in 2017.  Huawei also developed the first smart 7-nanometer smartphone processor, the famous “Kirin 980” processor, on which the Mate20 Series is based. It was also the first to launch the world’s first Leica Triple Camera in a Smartphone. Despite the industry being highly competitive, Huawei is still at the top, taking advantage of being the leader on all levels and leading the way when it comes to creativity and innovation, surpassing its competitors.

 

A new generation of artificial intelligence

Huawei has produced the second generation of NPU processing and artificial intelligence devices with the launch of its Kirin 980 chip. The Kirin 980 introduced the world to the first-ever 7 nanometer processor that packs 1.6x times the transistors than the previous generation 10 nanometer technology that is used by other smartphone processors. This is a good 6.9 billion transistors all packed into a 1 cm2 sized chip, translating into higher efficiency and processing power.

The Kirin 980 offers better performance at 37% and 32% higher than other processors, making the Mate20 smartphones the most powerful phones ever. The “Kirin 980” delivers significantly a 22% higher performance while reducing power consumption by 32% to provide a better, longer-lasting gaming experience with a Dual NPU with automatic image resolution at a rate of 4,500 images per minute, double the speed of the other chipset companies – resulting in much quicker scene recognition while taking photos or recording videos.  

Ultra-clear camera know what you see

In terms of the camera, which is the one of the most important element in the era of communication and social media networks, Huawei launched the world’s first Leica Triple camera, where the user feels that he is not using only a smartphone, but a professional high-quality camera. The HUAWEI Mate20 was not the first phone to be launched with this superb camera, it was introduced in March 2018 when Huawei launched its HUAWEI P20 Pro with a 40 megapixel camera, 20 megapixels and 8 megapixels supported by artificial intelligence, which puts Huawei phones in a completely unique level in this regard.

Its new and improved Master AI recognizes pretty much everything around you like people, plants sky and many things you can think of. All will be quickly identified, and the camera will adjust accordingly, optimizing and beautifying everything without actually making modifications. The camera will ensure that the desired object will be captured ‘the right way’– it simply gets what you’re trying to do and delivers accordingly.

 

Not only that, the HiVision feature is one of those features that makes the HUAWEI Mate20 Pro a true assistant. Thanks to the AI, you can query the internet for more information about objects by simply pointing the camera towards them. Point at a pizza and you will get the average number of calories in it based on its ingredients – also try it on a set of earphones and watch it quickly identify them and their brand, sending you to an e-store where they are being sold so you can make a purchase.

 

Powerful battery and quick methods for charging

A phone’s battery can be a source of energy or a source of danger, with news circulating from time to time about the explosion of batteries on smartphones. To that end, Huawei believes that the safety standard is the main factor to maintain the safety of its users. Huawei has fitted its smartphones with batteries with 4,000 to 4200 mAh (5000 mAh in Mate20X), which live longer than most other phones that may exceed capacity but lack in consumption of energy, and increased standards of sustainability and safety. Huawei submits its products to the strictest security and safety tests in the world of phones and have been awarded a safety certification according to the standard TUV Safety of Rheinland, which follows very strict safety regulations. In addition, thanks to the artificial intelligence support, Huawei has provided several battery modes for users to choose from based on their needs and circumstances.

As for charging technologies, Huawei SuperCharge enables users to charge up to 70% of their total capacity in just 30 minutes. The HUAWEI Wireless Quick Charge 15W charger enables it to charge 30% in half an hour. To Huawei's belief in the power of its handsets and batteries, Huawei has transformed its Huawei Mate20 Pro into a wireless charger to help users recharge their phones with the Huawei Mate20 Pro as a wireless power bank for another smartphone that supports wireless charging. Simply place both phones on top of each other and activates the charging process, one of the most forward-looking and practical features of all the smartphones available in the market.

However, Huawei continues to invest in innovation and creativity as it is the fifth largest in terms of spending on R&D activities in accordance with the European Investment Assessment and Research (R&D) Regulations of 2018. Huawei has invested more than $45 billion over the last ten years to support these activities. In 2017 alone, it invested more than $13 billion to support research and development. This was a main factor that drove Huawei’s ability to offer new technology on its smartphones ahead of the competition and a key element which placed Huawei smartphones in second place worldwide in terms of smartphone shipments according to several leading analyst firms.
