Deezer’s New Head of Content MENAT to Bring Fans Closer to Their Favorite Local Artists

Industry veteran Mark Abou Jaoude has joined us as our new regional Head of Content, Artist marketing and Label Relations. His main goal is to help us strengthen our relationship with the local music industry. He’ll be working closely with both artists and our partners to ultimately bring fans closer to their favorite stars.

Mark has been in the industry for the last 15 years and is an expert when it comes to the regional music scene. His experience and knowledge will create new opportunities for artists to grow their fan base and promote their music. In addition, he’ll be working closely with our marketing, PR and social teams to enable us to better connect with our audiences.

“Music has always been a big part of my life and working in the industry has allowed me to see the evolution in the MENA region. I know what fans expect from homegrown talent and how local artists can best engage with them. I’m looking forward to making Deezer the platform of choice for both artists and their fans to connect with each other,” said Mark Abou Jaoude.

Mark is a lifelong music fan. He started his career with a leading radio station in his native Lebanon. These included DJ, Programming Director and Production Manager roles. In 2014, he arrived in the UAE and spent six years at Anghami where he delivered impactful artist marketing campaigns before finding his new home at Deezer.

“We are a global brand with a local touch. Mark’s experience and understanding will further strengthen our status as the most personalized music service. His local knowledge of the market coupled with his industry relations will help us to become the home of audio streaming in the region,” commented Tarek Mounir, CEO MENA & Turkey, Deezer.
