Al Jalila Cultural Centre for Children hosts ‘Wellness on Wheels’ Programme

Medical services provided to 200 children

 

• Adel Omar: ‘Caring for children's health is a top priority for Dubai Culture.’

 

Al Jalila Cultural Centre for Children (AJCCC), an entity of Dubai Culture and Arts Authority (Dubai Culture), hosted the inauguration ceremony of the fourth ‘Wellness on Wheels’ programme, organised by the Ministry of Community Development in cooperation with the Mohammed Bin Rashid University of Medicine and Health Sciences (MBRU), in the presence of Her Excellency Hessa bint Essa Buhumaid, Minister of Community Development; His Excellency Amer Ahmad Sharif, President of MBRU and CEO of Dubai Academic Health Corporation; and Dr Saeed Mubarak bin Kharbash, CEO of the Arts & Literature Sector at Dubai Culture.

 

The programme provided about 200 children with a variety of health services, ranging from dentistry, ophthalmology, vital sign measurement, in addition to nutrition information. It was supervised by a group of doctors and specialists from MBRU in cooperation with visiting professionals. 

 

Adel Omar, Senior Special Project and Media Director at AJCCC, affirmed the importance of the centre hosting such initiatives, saying: "Caring for children's health is one of Dubai Culture's priorities, and the centre’s hosting of ‘Wellness on Wheels’ confirms the Authority's commitments aimed at providing a safe environment that enhances the health of children, in addition to introducing them to the necessity for eating healthy food, and how to integrate good, daily eating habits, to improve the quality of their lives.”

Omar added: “Choosing AJCCC to launch the fourth phase of the programme reflects the depth of the relationship between Dubai Culture and other government entities. Through a series of activities and workshops that it offers viaAJCCC, the Authority is working to direct the energies of our children to discover their talent, develop their creative abilities and refine their personalities, which confirms the Authority's keenness to invest in future generations and motivate them to be creative and innovative.”

 

AJCCC prepared an integrated entertainment programme for children, which included training workshops in pottery and other art fields aimed at enabling them to discover the secrets of the performing arts and teaching them theatrical principles, led by experts and artists.
